I don't know about you but it feels as if society tells us to wear anxiety as a badge of honor unknowingly. We get so use to saying we have it that it becomes part of who we are.
Either you've said it or thought it or heard someone say...I can't do that I have anxiety or I can't go there it will bring out my anxiety, and I can't talk about that my anxiety will go up. The list can go on and on. If this holds true then we have actually made it part of who we are. I can say we because I have battled with anxiety too.
The good part:
Butttttttttt, I have found when we have faith in Jesus and because We Have Victory in Him this is not how he sees or defines us.
Let me tell you or make it plain, Jesus did not say that our life will be free from trials/storms. He sees our pain, knows our trials, and struggles. Jesus promised that we don't have to live it out alone! He will give us peace in the midst of, he will deliver us, and with him we can overcome everything we go through. We can find comfort knowing we have a Savior who loves us and is with us every step of the way.
Remember He walked the earth to show us his love and healing power, died for us (Love), rose up, is a living Savior (Faith believing in something we can't see) who is coming again one day. So with that being true, you know he would give us ways to get through our anxieties. Lets look at them.
Ways to Overcome anxiety:
First, Abiding in Him daily by reading his Word and keeping it in your heart. His mercies are new every morning! So Jesus got you but you also have to trust Him (his Word) and believe. You know...Faith in Action.
Second, There is nothing wrong with getting therapy. Seeking out a really good Christian counselor who you can talk to and share with (especially if you are a Caregiver to a parent like me) is the best thing you can do for you. There is nothing wrong with that. I always say, God gives us common sense so why not use it in the best way to make you better. Get rid of the "I don't want nobody to know my business mindset" and put you as a priority. The goal is not to live in anxiety but be free from letting it control you.
Finally, We have to see ourselves as Jesus sees us. A child of God who is whole, beautiful, and loved. Remember he didn't make any mistakes in creating you. He knew of you before your parents did! Psalms 139:13-14
Ok, knock knock just making sure you're still reading. This is the end of my lecture blog Lol. I hope it spoke to you in some way. Before you go, below are seven scriptures to reflect on:
“Cast all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you.”
“Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds.”
"Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as this world giveth, give I unto you. let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid."
“God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.”
"It is of the Lord's mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is they faithfulness." His promise to see you through your anxiety, trials and more because he is Faithful.
“For God hath not given us a the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind." No need to fear. You can give all of your cares/anxieties to Jesus.
“For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.” There is Peace in Jesus.
Remember to: Hold onto your Faith, Walk Boldly in the Lord, Abide in Him daily, and Share his Word and know that You Are Loved. John 3:16
